Jakarta (ANTARA) - Two Chinese astronauts, Nie Haisheng and Zhai Zhigang declared his country would be very pleased to cooperate with Indonesia in the field of manned spacecraft.
"China is happy and very pleased to cooperate with all countries in the field of manned spacecraft, including with Indonesia," said Nie Haisheng at a dialogue with about 500 junior high students a Greater Jakarta and Bandung at the Center for Science and Technology Demonstration TMII (TAMAN MINI INDONESIA INDAH) Jakarta, Saturday.
He said he was confident that Indonesia will soon have an astronaut like in the past (Pratiwi Sudarmono and Taufik Akbar-ed) and get the chance to fly astronauts.
At the opening Minister for Research and Technology Suharna Surapranata accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Zhang Qi Yue, both of them to share experiences about how their medications tested in space with zero gravity.
"Medicine can not be done on earth can be done there where gravity is at point zero," said Zhai Zhigang said, adding that conditions in space are very different from the earth.
Two Chinese astronauts are visiting Indonesia with satellite search ship Yuanwang 5 Chinese center in the Port of Tanjung Priok rests for 10 days until 23 October.
Their visit to Indonesia aims to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China which has lasted for 60 years.
Meanwhile, Deputy Science and Technology Network, Dr M. Syamsa Ardisasmita said the key to the ability of China launched a manned spacecraft into space, the third country after Russia and the United States, not because China is smarter than Indonesia, but because it was willing to work hard.
About the possibility of cooperation in outer space flights with China, he said, Indonesia has signed a cooperation with China in the field of energy that nuclear reactors, traditional medicine, stem cells and specialized agriculture superior rice.
"We could propose cooperation in the field of spacecraft flight with China," he said, though about that according to him has not been a priority.
