WASHINGTON - People with physical limitations are now no longer have to worry about using the gadgets, the Internet, and electronic goods. President Barack Obama has signed a bill that would encourage companies and technology providers to be more 'friendly' against people with disabilities.
By signing this, Barack Obama has guaranteed the same access and opportunities for people with physical disabilities to enjoy the Internet and other technologies, together with other U.S. citizens.
The signing is done in front of legislators and the blind singer Stevie Wonder is once again celebrating the 'Americans with Disabilities Act', which to-20. Action is celebrating the prohibition of discrimination against qualified people with disabilities in the world of work, and demanding equal access for persons with disabilities to use public facilities and transportation.
"After all that happened, this day was coming. During this time many Americans with disabilities, are still not confident and think more of people's opinions about their disability, rather than thinking about what they can do really," Obama said, as quoted by Yahoo News, Monday (10/11/2010).
Later, go Obama, this new legislation will make everyone blind and deaf to have the ability like normal people in terms of interacting with technology, both playing with the TV or DVD menu, send email or use a smart phone.
In the state data, approximately 25 million Americans have limited vision (blind), while the other 36 million citizens have limited hearing.
Some of the rules contained in the legislation are:
1. Presenting the user interface (user interface) for the internet feature on smartphones, which facilitate people with disabilities.
2. Providing audio description in the screen that will help more blind people enjoy watching television.
3. Add captions on TV programs online to help deaf
4. Make telephone and internet devices compatible with hearing aids.
