Majority of employees think that they would take company data including confidential data when they get fired or move work.
LONDON - The majority of employees think that they would take company data including confidential data when they get fired or move work.
Of the approximately 1,000 employees, 70 percent admitted to taking the data if they are fired from the company in question.
Imperva revealed a majority of employees do not know if their company has a policy to remove or collect data from corporate laptops and mobile devices when they left the company.
"85 percent of respondents said they have copied the valuable customer data or trade secrets, to a personal computer," the report Imperva, as reported by Thinqu, Wednesday (24/11/2010).
"It seems that most employees do not have any intention deliberately to cause the companies 'broken'. Instead, this survey shows that most people who leave their jobs, all of a sudden believe that they have legal ownership of that data which they do every day is his," the report said.
Imperva confirms the problem is growing and facing the organization or company in the UK. So they should try to further strengthen data security.
