JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Starting this year PT Kereta Api Indonesia will add service to customers on the train to install a WiFi network. As a pilot project, WiFi will be installed in two series of trains, in train Argo and Argo Jati Parahyangan. Currently no information on whether WiFi service will be free or paid.
To be sure, to support its network, PT KA took PT XL Axiata as a provider. Signing of cooperation took place in Jakarta on Wednesday (08/11/2010), by the Director of Commerce XL Joy Wahjudi and Commercial Director of PT KAI Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito.

XL will improve the quality of their networks, both inside the train carriages and stations, including the addition of multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) in the units of PT KAI, which currently includes 140 locations, and the remaining approximately 374 locations again. With facilities and adequate communication network, PT KAI will be able to quickly develop an online network between the stations and branches, which among others can be utilized for the provision of booking and ticket payment service electronically.
