WASHINGTON - McDonald's fast food restaurant has been cooperating with law enforcement authorities, after hackers managed to get into their corporate databases and stolen information on the number of subscribers.
"We have been notified by one of our business partner, Arc Worldwide, that the limited customer information collected in the McDonald's site, obtained by unauthorized third parties," said McDonald's spokesman, as quoted by PC World, on Monday (13/12 / 2010).
Arc hired by McDonald's to develop and coordinate distribution of promotional email messages, and Arc in turn is based on a company's e-mail unknown to manage customer information database. This system of corporate e-mail friends who infiltrated.
Customer data is taken voluntarily, according to the McDonald's, not including social security numbers, credit card numbers or sensitive financial information.
