Most of the cockroaches prefer to use the right direction
VIVAnews - When we have cockroaches in a hurry to escape to a dark corner when we turn on the lights, which we feel is a general feeling of disgust, not a familiar taste.
However, from a recent study revealed that most people appeared to have the same fundamental behavior disgusting creature, ie more use his right hand.
In the study, as quoted from ScienceMag, 12 December 2010, researchers released cockroaches in tube-shaped Y. The tube had previously been given the scent of vanilla or ethanol to attract insects that pass through branching. Researchers then recorded the direction taken by the cockroaches.
Apparently, 57 percent of the cockroaches with full antenna prefer taking the direction to the right. Selection of the right direction is also not changed even though the researchers cut a cockroach sensitive antenna which is useful as a sense of touch and smell.
The findings will be published in the Journal of Insect Behavior upcoming issue adds to evidence that even the smallest-sized brain has a preference for direction.
According to investigators, the present invention can also be used by biologists who were trying to find a way to control cockroaches either for the rescue mission during a disaster, or to control pests.
