JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Jasa Marga Tbk together with Bank Mandiri's new investment plan to increase e-toll system card or electronic toll cards to boost system performance and the number of users of the card.
"Through this way, users are expected to e-toll cards more and more," said Jasa Marga President Frans S. Sunito in Jakarta, Thursday (16/12/2010).
He said, to enhance the e-toll card transaction requires a sensor that automatically do the transaction without the driver stopping the vehicle.
Frans said the new system will only apply to 2011 as an effort to reduce queues at toll booths. "The transaction can be faster with this new system because the e-toll card system is currently still requires 2-3 seconds," said Frans.

The increase, he said, will be supported by increasing use of e-toll card which is currently still small in number are owned by the people of Indonesia. "Currently only 6 percent of daily transactions that use the e-toll cards. Later we will develop a new system so that devotees are more and more. That way, there can be increased to 30 percent of e-toll transactions of total daily transactions," he said.
According to him, with the official operation of the e-toll at JORR card, then all the gates of Veterans in the west to the east Rorotan been able to receive this service. PT Jasa Marga currently has 83 toll gates which have been operated, as many as 28 gates of whom already use e-toll card.
