JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Despite losing 1-5 in preliminary round Group A, the Malaysian national team remains optimistic that Indonesia will be able to bend the first leg of the 2010 AFF Cup final will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (26/12/2010). In fact, they sure can come out as a champion of the Southeast Asian football.
As quoted by Berita Harian website on Monday (12/20/2010), Malaysia's national team captain, Safiq Rahim, said that in the previous match when against Indonesia, his team did not appear in the best performance.
"We lost not because we are weaker than Indonesia. If possible, we want to take revenge on the final day," he said.
He added that Malaysia's confidence is much improved after a successful draw against Vietnam in the semi-finals. Safiq admitted, advanced to the final opportunity will not be wasted.
"We would desperately to bring home trophies," he said.
The second final between Indonesia vs Malaysia will take place at the Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, on December 29, 2010.
