JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - SAP Asia Pacific Japan held a competition "SAP F1 Dashboard Design Challenge" for students. This competition was held as part of the SAP University Alliances Program and is designed to encourage innovation and creativity of students.
Registration of the competition has started from November 15, 2010, when the final race of the F1 2010 season was announced in Abu Dhabi. Team registration will be closed on December 5
The competition is open to all students at universities and polytechnics in the region of Southeast Asia. Participants are required to design using the platform 'SAP Crystal Design Dashboard' which can be doanloaded free of charge. The data that will form the basis of the dashboard, can be sourced from the official F1 site (http://www.formula1.com/ under "Results" tab).
Each team involved in this competition was assigned to develop a dashboard to analyze the performance of all teams F1 for 10 years (2001-2010). Dashboard design that is developed should allow the user to gain a broader insight to different aspects of the performance of the F1 teams, including the season, the drivers and teams. Dashboard each team will be judged on functionality, creativity, management data and other supporting documents.
To participate in this competition, students must first register their teams, and each team must consist of three members. Six finalists were selected to present their dashboard in front of a jury panel designated by the SAP. Presentations will be made in person or via web-conference at the Grand Final to be held on February 18, 2011. Detailed information on the Grand Final will be notified to the finalists at the time to be determined.
Prize draw voucher and the official certificate will be awarded to top three winning teams. The top three winning teams will receive cash prizes, which amounted to 1.500 U.S. dollars, 900 dollars and 300 U.S. dollars.
