NEW YORK - It's official that Tumblr has collected a fund of USD 30 million. This report indicates that the company's blogging service that figure is growing fast enough to get significant funding.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) entered the list of diverse participants who invested in Tumblr including Sequoia Capital, Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital. Similarly, as quoted by Mashable, Tuesday (21/12/2010).
Spark and Union Square are early investors who had funded Tumblr several times since the first. Sequoia, the company that membekingi giant Internet companies like Google and Yahoo, is a new investor.
This funding represents a massive investment to social media and online publishing lately. In comparison, last week Twitter announced that they received an injection of funds from investors who are rumored to reach USD200 million. Then in July last, web publishing and blog platform, Squarespace is rumored to have amounted to $ 39 million investment fund.
For Tumblr, this funding is a good thing, considering the recent weeks the site was down several times and got a lot of criticism from users on the Internet.
