JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - a local computer company from Indonesia, Toshiba, finally entered the market with tablets and smartphones made by Google's Android platform. The first product launched is not a tablet, nor a smartphone. Axioo called MID (mobile Internet devices).
"Called the MID because it can function as a tablet once a telephony functions such as smartphones," said David Kartono, VP Product Development & International Sales Axioo, when introducing the product last week. For Internet access, available options via WiFi or network GSM/3G/HSDPA.
Indonesian special theme was hailed as a form of differentiation with competitors similar products. According to Budi Wahyu Jati, Corporate Director, Axioo International Division, the institute has its own product design team that can do the customization of products coming into the Indonesian market.

This device uses the Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz ARM11. 512 MB internal memory capacity of NAND Flash and 512 MB of DDR RAM and supports 32 GB micro SD external memory. Other features include a rear camera 3 MP and 0.3 MP front camera. Axioo Picopad use 7-inch touch screen, capacitive type TFT with a resolution of 800 x 480 WVGA. 3200 mAh batteries that are resistant to 550 hours standby time.
Axioo Picopad priced at under $ 5 million. Besides in Indonesia, this product will also be exported to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The sales package will include a Bluetooth headset to allow users when making a phone call.
