JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Plan of Bank Indonesia (BI) cut the number zero in the rupiah currency or redenominasi be accomplished. Because the banking regulator has received approval from the President.
BI deputy governor Budi Rochadi said the central bank has been doing presentations redenominasi rupiah and already approved the President. "There are orders from the parliament to discuss this matter with the government," he said yesterday (24/01/2011).
Budi said, to facilitate discussion, the President has appointed the Vice President as chairman of the coordination team redenominasi. "Later we will hold a meeting and resolved gradually," he said.
Budi optimistic coordination discussions with the government to be completed before the end of 2011 so it can proceed with socialization. "It must be completed before 2011 and then socialize," he said. (Roy Franedya / KONTAN)
