JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Average salary of IT workers in Indonesia, the lowest among other countries in Asia. A recent survey conducted by ZDNet Asia technology media, IT worker salaries Indonesia also ranks lowest of the eight countries surveyed.
Surveys show, ZDNet Asia IT Salary Benchmark 2010 done in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia,Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Total respondents 14 998 people in a survey conducted from October 2009 to November 2010. From Indonesia, there are 1269 respondents in various types of work.
As a result, the highest average salary held by IT workers in Hong Kong, with numbers 63 990 U.S. dollars per year. Singapore followed with U.S. $ 51 864, Thailand 21 117 U.S. dollars, Malaysia 20 612 U.S. dollars, China 19 674 U.S. dollars, India 13 592 U.S. dollars, 8816 dollars Philippines, and Indonesia 7017 U.S. dollars.
However, the issue of work experience, IT workers do not lose the old Indonesian. An average of 6.7 years over a 6.2 year China, the Philippines 6.3 years, and India 6 years. IT workers in Malaysia experienced an average of 7.9 years and the highest held by Hong Kong with 10.4 years.
In terms of expertise, the percentage of Indonesia's IT workers have at least one certificate was not the lowest. On average there are 29.3 per cent of IT workers have at least one certificate over the Philippines and China. However, Malaysia still remains below the 37.7 percent. Again, IT workers in Hong Kong's most lots are certified, which is 42.7 percent.
When viewed salary based on work experience, Indonesia lowest among the eight countries surveyed. For IT workers experienced less than five years, the average salary is only 4120 U.S. dollars, while Malaysia 12 273 U.S. dollars. For experienced workers 5-10 years average salary in Indonesia 7708 U.S. dollars, while in Malaysia 20 682 U.S. dollars. For experienced workers more than 10 years the average salary in Indonesia, 12,129 U.S. dollars, while in Malaysia 30 223 U.S. dollars.
The average salary of IT workers in Indonesia in various fields was the lowest among other countries. For example, for IT management, the average annual salary in Indonesia, 13,090 U.S. dollars, while in Malaysia 28 752 U.S. dollars. System development in Indonesia are paid an average of 4353 U.S. dollars, while in Malaysia 17 111 U.S. dollars. Project management in Indonesia and Malaysia 8550 U.S. $ 24,509 U.S. dollars.
ZDNet did not explain why only eight countries surveyed, not to other countries that may be with a lower economic level than Indonesia. The survey results in detail can be found at the web site ZDNet Asia that was released on January 2, 2010.
