CALIFORNIA - Duo Internet giants, Google and Facebook, will divert Internet protocol (IP) address them during one day, 8 June. That was after there are fears that the 'IP' will soon be exhausted in the near future.
Telegraph launched on Monday (1/18/2011), Google, Facebook, Yahoo and other Internet companies are planning to use the new protocol system to run their sites. The system, called IPv6, is designed to prevent the ending IP address.
Currently, only 0.2 percent of Internet users who access the new protocol. No wonder Google and Facebook are planning to take part in 'Day of IPv6', 8 June, to support the adoption of the new system.
Vint Cerf is a leading global campaign to support the Internet service providers and IT managers to switch from a system that is run now, IPv4, to IPv6. This new standard will offer the trillions of new IP addresses, although not accessible via modem and router that only uses IPv4.
But once those changes are likely to be done in such a way that users do not lose access to existing ones. The reason the move will be part of standard software and hardware upgrade cycle.
The provision addresses the new site is expected to connect more devices, such as tablet computers, as well as allowing the devices simpler to access the Internet.
Google confirmed it had supported the use of IPv6 since 2008 and began offering search through the new system. In Google's blog, Network Engineer Lorenzo Colitti writes, "On the Day of IPv6, we will take a bigger step. Together with major Internet companies, such as Facebook and Yahoo, we will use IPv6 on our main sites for 24 hours" .
