JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Many have questioned why the Minister of Communications and Information Technology (Communication and Information Minister) Tifatul Sembiring asked Research In Motion (RIM) to filter pornographic content from the BlackBerry Internet Service. Is not RIM have internet connections such as ISP providers in general?
In his Twitter account on Sunday (9/1/2010), Communication and Information Minister then explained that the government is actually at issue. In essence, RIM must still install the software filter pornography according to rules in Indonesia because of all this, he argues, there is a deal between the operators and RIM to not filter content on a BlackBerry.

Nadira asserted, that RIM is committed to not facilitate the pornographic content. So there is no pornographic content on the BlackBerry application world. Consumers and mobile operators to be the party most anxious about the threat of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology (Communication and Information Minister), which will close the BlackBerry service.
Last week, Minister of Communication ultimatum Research In Motion (RIM) to install pornography filters on the BlackBerry service within two weeks. Many, local companies that live off the BlackBerry service.
While on the operator side, blocking the BlackBerry would be potentially cut their income.
