BEIJING - China's giant retail site, Taobao, eventually attracted more than 50 thousand pirated iTunes account following the complaint and the news emerging in the media.
Known Taobao sell pirated iTunes accounts with different prices, ranging from 1 yuan. By buying this account, the user will receive passwords to access and download illegal music content, video and applications.
After receiving complaints from customers, as well as see the Global Times report last week, Taobao finally pulled the accounts were pirated from her site.
"We received reports from customers that some iTunes account being sold online is stolen from another user account," the company said in a statement quoted by SC Magazine, on Wednesday (01/12/2011).
"After hearing this report, we acted quickly to withdraw the entire account from our site," he said.
