If Facebook and LinkedIn intend to go public in the near future, the same with Twitter. Chief Executive Dick Costolo asserted, there is no intention of Twitter to go public.
SAN FRANCISCO - If Facebook and LinkedIn intend to go public in the near future, the same with Twitter. Chief Executive Dick Costolo asserted, there is no intention of Twitter to go public.
"My hope for Twitter is to become a successful independent company," said Costolo on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
"We have reached one percent of our target and now we have incredible potential," he added as quoted TerraNet, Sunday (01/09/2011).
Since its launch in 2006, Twitter managed to attract over 175 million users worldwide. Now, the microblogging site was even considered as one means of promotion and marketing is quite powerful.
However, when asked the possibility of offering shares to the public (IPO), Costolo retorted, "I do not think about it."
"I believe that someday we have to start thinking about that possibility. (But) now is not the time,"said Costolo.
