REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Telkom plans to spend around Rp1 trillion to acquire one company. The acquisition is intended to enlarge the company's corporate business.
"The process of offering shares to be acquired has reached the stage of` due diligence '(due diligence), which is expected to be realized before the end of this year (2010), "said Telkom CEO, Rinaldi Firmansyah, the Office of the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Rinaldi did not elaborate on the company name to be taken over the company. "There is one company. But for reasons of confidentiality, the name will not be my first call," he said.
He just explained, Telkom competes with two other companies to acquire the company in question.
The source of funds financing the acquisition would be taken from internal cash. "The acquisition is still unknown. Depending on the results of bidding," he said.
Although the incentive to do acquisitions, but Telkom is also divest stake in PT Patrakom, and PT Citra Sari Makmur (CSM). Telkom shares on Patrakom reached 40 percent, while in the CSM by 25 percent. Currently, several companies have expressed interest in taking over shares Patrakom.
