TAIPEI - Two Taiwanese students could face jail after getting caught will sell for the election of Taiwan President 2012. They sell their votes on social networking site Facebook.
According to local police, the student wrote in his Facebook status that he would be willing to sell her voice to 500 Taiwan dollars or equivalent to USD16. As a result of his actions, the two students were threatened with a maximum prison sentence of three years. SMH Thus was launched on Friday (26/11/2010).
Students who are known to the law student admitted that they realized that vote buying is illegal. They claim to sell only make jokes with sound at Facebook.
Residents in five major cities around Taiwan will select mayors and council members on the coming Saturday. And also will hold presidential elections in 2012.
Vote buying was rampant. Attorney General himself has said they are investigating about 160 cases of alleged vote buying in the city of Taipei.
