JAKARTA - Indonesia Japan questioned the reasons for the proposed draft standard tempeh in the Asian session of the Codex Committee.
This was disclosed by Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Company (Gapmmi) Adhi S Lukman. Adhi said, it was revealed at a meeting of the Codex Committee for Asia held in Bali on 22 to 26 November 2010.
"Indonesia has proposed standards for the tempeh. Therefore, so far, there are countries that produce from the lentils and tempeh and lupines. In fact, tempeh is supposed to be from soy. Japan questioned the proposal of Indonesia. We hope, next year there is progress on this," said Adhi in Jakarta, Thursday (11/25/2010).
Meanwhile, Adhi explained, the Codex Committee for Asia was completed the formulation of standards for sago flour. Previously, said Adhi, the standard has not been approved by the Philippines and Malaysia.
"It's been eight or entered the final step. Next, brought to the hearing committee in Geneva. If it is determined, the standard is good for Indonesia, mainly to introduce our sago flour production to international markets," said Adhi.
