CALIFORNIA - San Francisco Bussines Times reported that the microblogging site giant based in San Francisco, Twitter, is looking for a new location for its new headquarters.
Twitter reportedly are looking for a location in Brisbane, California, especially in the Sierra Point Towers building, which formerly was the headquarters of Walmart.com. Similarly, as quoted by TechCrunch, Friday (01/14/2011).
In addition, Twitter is also considering to buy Centennial Towers in South San Francisco area. A few months ago, Twitter is also said to be interested in two new locations for their headquarters.
"We have about 350 employees and looking at growth figures Twitter. We can not remain in the previous two-story building. So now we must find a new location," said Carolyn Penner, representatives from the Twitter.
With as many as 350 people the number of employees means the number of employees betambah Twitter has tripled.
Jennifer Matz, managing director of the San Francisco Office of Economy and Workforce, hoping that Twitter's headquarters remain in the city.
"We will mobilize all our capabilities for Twitter's headquarters remain in San Francisco, and help them find new land for its new building," said Matz.
Twitter is now a mainstay for the technology sector in the city of San Francisco. Transfer of the headquarters of Twitter might be a great loss for the city.
