KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - international drug trafficking syndicate more incentive to use Facebook to recruit new members who can serve as a 'courier'.
Malaysia's foreign ministry declared, that many young women of Malaysia who are drawn into the drug trade.
Deputy Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia Richard Riot said most of these syndicates were men who came from Nigeria and South Africa. They "take" potential victims through the up and promised them money to bring drugs packages to Malaysia or to other countries.
"This has been going on since the last few years, the girls are tempted by the syndicate on Facebook, they do chat, and become friends, before using it as a courier to smuggle narcotics," he said as quoted DigitalOne Riot, Friday (03/12/2010).
"They offer a number of prizes as the pay is, as vacation to Japan, China and South America, after asking the girls to bring the package, and the bag containing the drugs," he added.
Riot suggested that the Malaysian women to be careful in the surf. Malaysians are known as the category of the most friendly people on the internet with an average of 233 friends in their social network.
