Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government expects the international rating agency Moody's raised Indonesia's ranking after they studied the development of the Indonesian economy.
"Let's wait, Moody` s not very `straight`, hopefully our ratings will be higher, "said Minister of National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas Armida S Alisjahbana after attending the launch of the Human Development Report 2010 in Jakarta on Friday.
She said the ratings go up showed a decrease in the risk of investing in Indonesia so that if a government or corporation issuing bonds, then the fee or interest will also come down.
"Not all countries have increased, some European countries there is a fall, Vietnam also fell, we are seen likely to increase ratings," he said.
She said currently Indonesia's rating by Moody's is at two levels below investment grade.
"They studied the development of the economy as a whole, not just from the monetary side, but also issues of infrastructure and policy consistency," he said.
Earlier in June 2010, Moody's revised the outlook for sovereign credit rating (foreign debt rating outlook) Indonesia from Ba2 level local and foreign currency sovereign rating from stable to positive.
Positive outlook indicates the possibility of Indonesia to obtain improved rating in the next year, in which Indonesia still needs two more notch to investment grade.
Moody's ratings outlook was recorded lower than the ratings / outlook assigned S & P is (BB / positive) and that Fitch (BB + / stable).
Moody's last rating action against Indonesia on September 16, 2009, when the sovereign rating upgraded to Ba2 with a stable outlook.
