JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Gunanusa Utama Fabricators working on three projects of oil and gas platforms offshore (oil & gas offshore platforms) with a value of more than 650 million U.S. dollars. "Platform is built in Cilegon, and will be installed respectively in the Mumbai High Indian ocean, in the Gulf of Siam Thailand, and in Ujung Pangkah Java Sea west of Surabaya, East Java," said President Director of PT Gunanusa Samad Solbai in the press release.
Offshore platform generally consists of two main parts, namely at the top called the topside, the module or deck (which puts the process equipment, housing, office and field landing helicopter) and the lower part called the jacket, the poles are driven at the base of support sea. "The construction of offshore platforms comprising 90 percent of steel and the number of workers for all three projects is approximately 6,500 people, 99 percent are people of Indonesia." Samad said.
According to him, the first project to be completed is a project ONGC ICP-R that will be installed in the Mumbai High which will be loaded into three barges and will depart at the end of December 2010.
Between loading and departure needs time to bind them (seafastening: welding platform to the barge, and the installation of additional safety purposes) to the barge for about 2 weeks. ONGC topside ICP-R is the total weight exceeding 9,000 tons, consisting of 5 modules, which will be united at the time of installation at a location in India.
Samad said the work processes performed ICP-R PT Gunanusa covers the entire process of bridge construction from the design / engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and commissioning (to operate). Such capability is an advantage because not all the fabricator in Southeast Asia have them.
Meanwhile, a second project to be dispatched is Hess Ujung Pangkah CPP and the AUP that weighs more than 6,000 tons to Ujung Pangkah oil field, East Java. CPP (Central Processing Platform) weighing 2650 tons with 260 tons jacket and AUP (Accommodation and Utility Platform) weighing 2080 tons with 260 tons jacket. AUP is home (living quarters) for 35 workers. Both structures will be installed at a depth of 10 meters.
The third project is PTTEP Qps (Quarter South Platform) and weighs 3500 tons, residence (living quarters) to 158 people. Platforms that will be installed off the coast of the Gulf of Thailand (Bongkot). "All the work above is the work of the nation because of all the work done by 99 percent of Indonesia, therefore, this capability must be improved in order to achieve the progress of the Indonesian nation in the future," Samad added.
PT Utama Fabricators Gunanusa heavy construction is a national company which acting as EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation) contractor of oil and gas platforms offshore (oil & gas offshore platforms), which has produced more than 100 bridge construction.
