"If this happens now price hikes of basic commodities such as rice, cooking oil, and chili, then the problem is related to people's stomachs," he said. "That's the main task of Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs today. So, Hatta must prioritize the handling of price control problem," he said.
Deputy Treasurer General of the Golkar ( Golongan Karya / Functional Group ) Party is urging Hatta to not run away from responsibility.
"Do not invite people dreamily or dreaming because the real problem today is the high price of basic needs of the people," he said as he explained, the power consumption of millions of families have plummeted toward zero.
"Millions of children threatened with malnutrition," he said.
For information, the Central Bureau of Statistics in a press conference here on Monday (1/3/2011), states, the rate of inflation from January to December 2010 amounted to 6.96 percent due to rising inflation dominated the rice.
Inflation in December amounted to 0.92 percent by the consumer price index of 125.17. For the month of December, the contribution of rice to 0.23 percent inflation.
